Tamiya is set to re-issue its 1/16 scale Type 82 Kubelwagen kits this month.
  • German Kubelwagen Type 82 - Africa Corps (36202)
  • Kubelwagen Type 82 - European Campaign (36205)
Common to both kits are doors and engine room covers that may be built either open or closed. The engine room shows mechanical equipment including air cleaner, 4-cylinder horizontally-opposed air cooled engine, and repair tools. Tires are of semi-pneumatic rubber, and the front wheels are steerable. Further, it includes accessories such as jerry cans and a driver figure.

Kit 36202 features an Africa-version instrument panel, seats, detailed 4-wheel independent suspension system, as well as an additional figure depicting Field Marshall Erwin Rommel.

Esci/revell is 1/9. Tamiya 1/16 scale is not the same kit.

I have a 1/18 Schwimmwagen made by 21st Century Toys years ago that I got for my daughter's Barbie dolls to tool around in. Not as realistic as an actual kit would be, but it looks the part.

The image of Barbie wheeling around in a Swimmwagen is rather humorous. Yours must have been an interesting househld

Kettenkrad, or R75 would be nice in 1/16.
