Trumpeter releases its latest kit on the subject, this time featuring the US version.
The M270A1 is an upgraded version of the M270 MLRS (Multiple Launch Rocket System). The enhancements include cab and hull modifications to improve occupant survivability, and suspension modifications to accommodate the vehicle’s increased weight. The latest variant of the M270A1 uses a new Improved Armor Cab (IAC) to increase protection of the crew and the addition of mine protective seating.

M270/A1 Multiple Launch Rocket System – US (01049). Containing over 970 parts, the kit features a detailed multi-directional slide-molded cab, and lower hull, individual tracks links, as well as photo-etched details. When built, the model stands 200.5mm long and 89.5mm wide.

Background information on the vehicle sourced from ArmyRecognition.com.

Maybe, but it is backwards if that is the case. The decal reads 147 1 F, not 1-147 FA or 1F147, etc...

I know. At first I thought it could be 1I 1F7 for the first of the seventh artillery but-- It's an anagram of 1F147 or 1 147F. The proper order probably got lost in translation like so many bumper codes decals.

Well, I'll survive if the only faults are in the decals Aftermarket will probably come to the rescue long before I get around to building this. / Robin

Yup, that is what I figure too. Some of their earlier decal translation errors have been good too.

For some reason, the manufacturers consider a large number of parts for the assembly to be a measure of high-quality detailing.) Although this often leads only to an increase in the time of the assembly process, sometimes it comes to absurdity and idiocy. It would be better to devote more time to authenticity. It would be interesting to see the British version with slat armor someday, it looks very spectacular and aggressive.

I need to find someone that can make me some decals for 6/32FA out of Ft. Sill for this. Can't wait.

Is this kit actually available anywhere? I checked my regular sources and didn't see it. Scalehobbyist has the German version and the Finnish version... at $90!! Wow lol. I didn't think they were going to run that much.

It is not supposed to be available until Jan.
